Matt is a self taught artist who is currently exploring acrylic as a medium. His visual style is shaped by the comic books he drew from as a child. His subject matter is informed by the trials and adversity he has faced in his lifetime such as the hardships combat in Afghanistan, PTSD, addiction, and failed relationships all of which has led to explore spirituality through his works of art.
Inspired by the heart
I find true strength resides in the heart. It is the place from which I desire to speak and create. The heart is a guiding force, a source of energy, and it transcends all forms of identity. I strive to understand this further through my works of art and wish to share them to serve as a reminder to keep the viewer in touch with that place within themselves .
